A Walk in the Park: Springtime Meanderings

Some days it’s just too BEAUTIFUL to be stuck indoors. Today was one of those days–mid 70s and sunny with a slight breeze. Perfect! So I grabbed the camera and headed out for one of my walks in the park. With 6 walking trails and the pedestrian roads connecting the Visitor Center to the barnyard, there are many routes to choose from. Usually I’ll opt for one of the trails; however today I wanted to see what was happening down on the colonial site.

First, I stopped off in the Museum Garden to say hello to Annmarie, a long-time friend of the Foundation, former employee, and now volunteer (that’s dedication!), and spotted pretty Irises, Cornflowers, and sweet smelling Lemon balm.

Then, venturing on to the colonial site to see what Matt was digging up, I was greeted happily by a few farm friends.

A quick peek into the kitchen garden…

…and on to the pier − a popular fishing spot. What a spectacular view!
